New term Welcome back to Asgard for yet another term of training! Training resumes on Monday September 5th 2011 - 6.00am for the senior group and 6.00pm for the junior group. We will be holding a registration session on Saturday September 3rd from 11.00am -1.00pm either in the pool lobby or the sports centre. This will be confirmed closer to the date. Please turn up for registration as it allows us to organise the lanes before the start of term. If any swimmer is not returning to the club, please let us know in advance of registration.Looking forward to seeing you all! Leinster Open Championships and Swimming Awards Congrats to the Asgard S.C swimmers who participated in the Leinster Long Course Open Championships on the 18th March 2011 in the NAC. There were new PB's and medals received and new Asgard S.C records! Well done to Ciara Weadick, Emer Kelly, Gavin McInerney and Liadan Long! Due to the snow we had in December last - Asgard S.C finally had their fun session, Christmas Party and Awards yesterday! There was a great turnout and great awards were given to swimmers for most improvement and best attendance ! Mac Swim Open Gala 27th February 2011 Well done to all the Asgard swimmers who participated in the NAC McSwim in aid of Ronald McDonald House on the 27th February 2011. The gala saw new PBs for the over 9s - 14s age group - Congratulations to Liadan Long, Madeline Long, Niamh Ennis, Maurice Weadick, Dervla Duggan, Christa Berney and Conor Duggan! At the same event, the Mini Minnows Charity Gala saw some of the young Asgard members for the under 8's and Under 10s participate - for the first time at NAC with some fantastic results and new times! Congratulations to Alexandra Spencer, Shannon Mitchell, Ellen Berney, Timothy Carroll, Conor Mc Inerney and Ruby Vambeck!

The gala results showed some new PB's and seconds off their times. Results will be posted on the blog and the 'Meet Results' section on the Asagrd website once we receive them from Leinster Swimming. Senior Schools Gala The Leinster Schools 'A' gala was held on Saturday 16th January in Portmarnock and many congratulations to Liadan Long who won the bronze medal in the 100m breast stroke. Well done, Liadan!Term 2, January 2011 Welcome back to all our swimmers for the second term of the year. Unfortunately, due to the heavy snow, quite a lot of training had to be cancelled at the end of last term, along with the Christmas party and the award ceremony. We will be holding the award ceremony a little later in the term, we will let you know in plenty of time!The gala season is upon us again with the Leinster Winter Championships and the graded gala taking place on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of January. There will be a large group of swimmers taking part and we would like to wish them the very best of luck. The Tallaght gala will be held on Saturday 29th of January, and entries close on 17th (today)- they can be emailed to the Asgard address. |
